This was stated by Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Eugen Osmochescu while speaking at the international event "Empowering Women Farmers through Innovative Policy Solutions" (Empowering Women Farmers through Innovative Policy Solutions), held at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). In his remarks, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry emphasized the role of inclusive agricultural policy in expanding access to financing for women and youth, as well as in directing investments toward achieving specific economic outcomes. "When discussing the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and our policies regarding women, it is important to understand that gender equality and inclusivity must be cross-cutting principles integrated into all our actions and initiatives. Analyzing the measures taken in recent years, it is clear that we have changed our approach to ensuring access to financial resources for all participants in the agricultural sector, with a particular focus on women and youth. "We are focusing on investment projects and the tangible results they deliver: job creation, contributions to GDP growth, economic and regional development, as well as improved access to water resources," stated Eugen Osmochescu. The event in Rome is part of a series of initiatives marking the International Year of Women Farmers (2026). It brought together representatives of government agencies, women entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector, and international partners to exchange experiences in developing public policies and solutions that promote economic opportunities for women in the agri-food sector. In addition, Eugen Osmochescu held a meeting with representatives of the FAO's Youth and Women's Division, during which they discussed opportunities for cooperation to support women and youth in the agri-food sector. // 16.10.2026 — InfoMarket
