The financing opportunities offered by the Strategic Agricultural Policy Program for 2026–2030 were discussed at the Economic Council platform, where Working Group No. 10 held a meeting “Development of the Agri-Food Sector.” The purpose of the event was to inform the business community about the financing opportunities offered by the Strategic Agricultural Policy Program for 2026–2030, and to present the results of the national campaign dedicated to the new subsidy policy for agricultural producers. The meeting was attended by Ina Butucel, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry; Diana Coșalîc, Acting Director of the Agency for Agricultural Interventions and Payments (AIPA), as well as representatives of business associations, the business community, other government agencies, and development partners. They briefly explained how to apply for subsidies and what steps farmers must take to receive financial assistance. Participants learned about the funds available under the 2026–2030 agricultural program, the changes in the new subsidy policy, how to submit applications, the required documents, and the steps involved in obtaining funding. The Strategic Agricultural Policy Program for 2026–2030, which took effect in June, introduces new funding opportunities for farmers through initiatives focused on crop and livestock production, irrigation, organic farming, young farmers, and family farms. The document outlines the procedure for providing financial assistance to develop the agri-food sector over the next five years and establishes a monitoring system based on performance indicators, outcomes, and impact, which will allow for the annual evaluation of each initiative based on results achieved, ensuring that funds are directed toward projects that have the greatest impact on agricultural and rural development. In this regard, participants also discussed the development of guidelines for accessing funds, emphasizing the need for them to be intuitive, practical, and easy for farmers to use. Business representatives requested that the outreach process include practical assistance with drafting project proposals, a clear explanation of the application stages, and a detailed description of the mandatory elements that an investment proposal must contain. At the same time, they emphasized the importance of a well-structured information campaign in the regions, which would help potential beneficiaries prepare documents that meet the requirements and are competitive. The new approach involves a comprehensive assessment of investment projects prior to the provision of financial assistance. This mechanism will allow resources to be directed toward projects that have the greatest impact on agricultural and rural development goals and will promote the effective use of public funds by selecting investments with the best cost-effectiveness ratio. Working Group No. 10 will hold monthly meetings on the Economic Council’s platform to facilitate structured discussions of proposals, challenges, and initiatives put forward by the business community. These meetings will bring together all decision-makers and relevant stakeholders, providing a permanent framework for dialogue, cooperation, and the resolution of challenges arising in the agri-food sector. Through these regular meetings, the Economic Council aims to facilitate the rapid identification of problems, the development of practical solutions, and the coordination of actions between government agencies and the private sector, so that interventions are directly aimed at benefiting farmers and agricultural enterprises. It should be noted that over the past three weeks, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and the Agency for Agricultural Interventions and Payments have held informational sessions in all regions of the country, bringing together approximately 1,500 farmers, representatives of professional associations, and institutions in the agri-food sector. // 29.07.2026 — InfoMarket.
