In his address to the event's participants, the head of the Cabinet spoke about the strong bond between Moldovans abroad and the country, as well as the role they can play in Moldova's development. "What defines us is that we remain united. There are few of us, but we are close to one another, and our love for Moldova has remained strong over the years. We have many good people in all walks of life, and I urge you to contribute to the country's development," said the prime minister. Vasile Tofan emphasized that one of the government's main tasks is to create conditions for economic development, investment, and new jobs. "We need to restore people's optimism. We want citizens to believe in this country and be confident that Moldova is heading in the right direction. To do this, we need to make life easier for our citizens, help the economy produce and grow, and help entrepreneurs invest and create jobs," he said. Speaking about measures to stimulate investment, the prime minister noted that the government is taking a two-pronged approach. The first is aimed at systemic changes necessary for a simpler and more predictable business environment—simplifying tax administration, reducing bureaucracy, and minimizing unwarranted oversight. The second approach is aimed at identifying and unblocking investment projects that are already at an advanced stage but are facing certain obstacles. "We need to reignite the engines of the economy. Sometimes, unblocking a relatively small number of projects can generate significant investment and create substantial added value for the economy," noted Vasile Tofan. During the dialogue with participants, the prime minister answered questions regarding support for entrepreneurial activity, the situation in the labor and real estate markets, and support measures for people of retirement age. The Diaspora Forum brought together Moldovan citizens living abroad, representatives of government agencies, and members of diaspora communities. Discussions during the three thematic panels focused on civic engagement and European integration, the exchange of experiences among Moldovan communities abroad, and the diaspora's contribution to the sustainable development of their places of origin.
