Jaroslav Cerniavski has been appointed as the new Director of Philip Morris Moldova. He has more than 15 years of experience with the company and has played an active role in developing Philip Morris International's business across several European markets, including Italy, Poland, and Switzerland. Prior to his appointment in Moldova, Jaroslav Cerniavski was Director of Philip Morris in Lithuania, one of the company's most developed smoke-free markets.

Jaroslav Cerniavski takes the helm of Philip Morris Moldova at a significant time for the company. This year, the company marks 30 years of presence in the Moldovan market, while continuing to develop local production and consistently implementing its strategy of transitioning toward a smoke-free future.

In his new role, Jaroslav Cerniavski will focus on the further development of Philip Morris Moldova's business, strengthening the company's position in the local market, and implementing Philip Morris International's long-term strategy.

"The Philip Morris Moldova team has achieved significant results in the local market. Today, the company is an industry leader, contributes to the country's economic development, ensures stable revenues for the state budget, and continues to expand its portfolio of innovative smoke-free products. I am pleased to continue on this path and contribute to the company's further growth in the Moldovan market, increasing our contribution to Moldova's development through continued investment in our local presence and the expansion of our network of local partners. I believe that our growth in Moldova can also send an important signal to other international companies considering the country as an attractive investment destination," said Jaroslav Cerniavski.

The new Director of Philip Morris Moldova added that one of the company's priorities remains the development of the smoke-free product category through new investments and portfolio diversification.

"Innovative smoke-free products are based on scientific research and create new opportunities both for adult smokers and for the market as a whole. We intend to develop our business responsibly and transparently, while remaining open to dialogue with consumers, public authorities, and non-governmental organizations. At the same time, preventing minors from accessing our products remains an unwavering priority for us - a principle we follow in every market where we operate," emphasized Jaroslav Cerniavski.

Philip Morris Moldova is an affiliate of Philip Morris International, a leading international company actively delivering a smoke-free future. The company's current product portfolio primarily consists of cigarettes and smoke-free products.

PMI's smoke-free products are available for sale in 109 markets as of June 30, 2026. As of December 31, 2025 PMI estimates they were used by over 43 million legal-age consumers around the world, many of whom have moved away from cigarettes or significantly reduced their consumption. The smoke-free business accounted for approximately 42% of PMI's second-quarter 2026 total net revenues.

Since 2008, PMI has invested over $16 billion to develop, scientifically substantiate and commercialize innovative smoke-free products for legal age adults who would otherwise smoke or use other nicotine-containing consumer products, with the goal of completely ending the sale of cigarettes.
