The Agency for Agricultural Interventions and Payments (AIPA) released these figures in observance of National Beekeeper's Day, celebrated on August 19. As noted, the beekeeping sector is an important component of the country's agriculture, and AIPA continues to support investment and the development of beekeeping operations through its available financial support tools. From January 1 to the present, AIPA has allocated more than 125 million lei to support the beekeeping sector, including 119.90 million lei in the form of advance payments for the construction, renovation, and technological or digital equipping of 190 beekeeping operations, as well as for the purchase of 2,298 bee colonies as part of projects completed this year. An additional 5.13 million lei was provided to stimulate investment in the livestock sector, intended for the establishment, construct, modernize, and equip 60 beekeeping operations with technology or equipment, including the purchase of 364 bee colonies and 618 queen bees. At the same time, 0.22 million lei were allocated as additional payments for 840 bee colonies. AIPA notes that these forms of support contribute to the modernization of beekeeping, an increase in production capacity, and a reduction in the risks faced by beekeepers. // 19.08.2026 — InfoMarket
