This was discussed during a meeting between Finance Minister Victoria Belous and Esselien van Eerten, the Dutch Ambassador to our country. Discussions focused on the development of bilateral cooperation and shared priorities in the area of public finance. Victoria Belous highly commended the Netherlands' assistance to Moldova, including in the process of European integration, and emphasized the Ministry of Finance's priorities regarding the strengthening of tax policy and budgetary and financial discipline. The parties reviewed the progress of the 2026 Annual Cooperation Program, which includes activities in areas such as strengthening the tax base and fiscal responsibility, establishing a Tax Council, preparing for EU accession negotiations, customs cooperation, internal government financial control, communication, and financial education. According to the Ministry of Finance, Moldovan-Dutch cooperation contributes to institutional capacity building, the exchange of experience, and the adoption of best practices in areas related to public sector reform and Moldova's European path.
