According to the agency, industrial production in Moldova increased by 7.9% in the first six months of 2026, compared to the same period last year. This growth was mainly driven by the manufacturing sector, where output rose by 7%, as well as the energy sector, which grew by 14.2%. The most significant growth in the manufacturing sector was seen in the following sectors: metal structures and metal products (+43.7%), the textile industry (+17.1%), the food industry (+14.6%), the furniture industry (+11.4%), and the apparel industry (+4.3%). Significant growth was also observed in the production of capital goods (+16.5%) and in the production of durable goods (+12.9%). In the energy sector, approximately 53% of total electricity consumption was covered by domestic production, and 60.6% of the energy produced came from renewable sources.
