And that is exactly what the Tofan government will do," said Claudiu Năsui. At the same time, the new head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Eugeniu Osmochescu, also named European integration and the fulfillment of all obligations to the EU as a top priority, emphasizing that his ministry bears the heaviest burden —about 33% of the entire regulatory framework that must be harmonized with European regulations. He named the development of science-based smart agriculture as his second priority. "We are facing a drought; we must consider how to move forward and develop agriculture under these conditions. This involves irrigation, smart systems, and a change in our—the government's and farmers'—approach to agriculture and subsidies." "The third priority is the development of the agri-food sector; this is one of the three factors that drove Moldova's economic growth in 2025, alongside the IT sector and industrial production," stated Eugeniu Osmochescu. As a reminder, Eugeniu Osmochescu served as Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization in Alexandru Munteanu's government beginning November 1, 2025, and from July 8 to 22, 2026, following the latter's resignation, he served as Acting Prime Minister.
