In particular, the National Commission for the Financial Market held a meeting with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, during which they reviewed the progress made in harmonizing the capital market's regulatory framework with European Union standards, the development of capital market infrastructure, and priorities for cooperation in the near future. According to the CNPF, discussions focused on developments in the process of harmonizing the national legislative framework with EU legislation, the results of technical assistance provided by the EBRD, and prospects for its expansion. In addition, discussions focused on the development of stock exchange infrastructure, the identification of new opportunities to strengthen the capital market, and the CNPF's institutional priorities. Currently, the NSC receives support from the EBRD through two projects aimed at harmonizing the regulatory framework with European standards and strengthening the agency's institutional capacity. The first project, "Alignment of the Legal and Regulatory Framework for Capital Markets with EU Standards," aims to harmonize the capital market's legal and regulatory framework with European Union standards. The second project, "EU Alignment Expert on Financial Regulation to Support the Capacity of the National Commission for Financial Markets of Moldova with the Transposition of Chapter 9 (Financial Services) of the EU Acquis," is aimed at strengthening the CNPF's capacity to transpose European legislation in the field of financial services. The implementation of these initiatives contributes to the preparation of the national regulatory framework for European integration, the development of the CNPF's institutional capacity, and the creation of conditions for a modern, transparent, and competitive capital market. CNPF Chairman Dumitru Budianschi expressed his gratitude to the EBRD for its support, emphasizing the role of technical assistance in harmonizing national legislation with European standards and in implementing the reforms necessary for the development of the capital market in Moldova. Cooperation between the NSC and the EBRD provides crucial support for modernizing the regulatory framework, strengthening the capital market infrastructure, and advancing Moldova's European integration process. // 30.10.2026 — InfoMarket
