Specifically, from August 3 to 7, the State Tax Service of Moldova is hosting the first official mission as part of the project "Finance and Taxation for the EU. Public Finance and Tax Administration Reform for Moldova's Accession to the European Union." This mission focuses on the component of strengthening risk-based control as part of the new FIT4EU project, funded by a European Union consortium. Experts Alin Sjökvist Radu and Anette Petersson are participating in the mission. Olga Goban, Director of the State Tax Service, noted that she highly values the assistance and expertise of development partners, whose cooperation will help implement the necessary reforms as Moldova progresses on its path toward the European Union. The FIT4EU project supports the implementation of the Reform Program's objectives and helps accelerate the process of aligning Moldova's tax administration with EU legislation, standards, and systems in the field of tax administration. The current mission focuses on the implementation of Objective 2.3—"Risk-Based Auditing"—which aims to strengthen the audit function through more effective use of risk information in the audit planning, case selection, and post-audit follow-up processes. During the mission, the experts will work closely with the State Tax Service team to analyze existing processes and identify the measures necessary to achieve the set objectives. The State Tax Service reaffirms its commitment to continuing the process of development and modernization by strengthening an effective, transparent, and risk-based tax system in the interests of taxpayers and society. // 03.08.2026 — InfoMarket.
