This is provided for in the amendments to the Law on Hunting and the Protection of Hunting Resources, which Parliament passed on first reading. The bill establishes clearer rules for managing hunting resources and combating poaching, providing authorities with more effective tools for intervention. The bill will stipulate that a hunting license will be issued for a fee of 660 lei in both printed and electronic formats. At the same time, the definition of the hunting reserve is expanded to include species of hunting interest and their habitats. Foxes and jackals will be included in the category of species subject to intervention measures, and the list of types of damage recognized by law will be expanded to include damage to forest resources and domestic animals. The bill also provides for the harmonization of terminology related to hunting weapons and an expansion of the definition of illegal hunting (poaching). Consequently, it will be prohibited, among other things, to track animals using any type of vehicle, including unmanned ones, as well as to use thermal imaging cameras and night-vision devices. Hunting experts, representatives of competent authorities in the fields of environmental protection and game reserve management, as well as specialists involved in the administration and monitoring of hunting resources, participated in the drafting of the bill.
