The Foreign Investors Association (FIA) reported this, noting that it is contributing to the dialogue on biodiversity financing in Moldova. Ana Groza, Executive Director of the Foreign Investors Association (FIA), along with representatives of FIA member companies, participated in the approval process for the Biodiversity Expenditure Review (BER), developed as part of the BIOFIN Moldova/ UNDP. The document represents the first comprehensive assessment of financial resources allocated to biodiversity in Moldova and analyzes the private sector's contribution. According to the assessment, in 2025 the private sector contributed approximately 186 million lei, accounting for nearly 19% of total biodiversity-related expenditures. According to the FIA, the "green" transition and biodiversity conservation must be built in partnership with the business community. Financial policies and mechanisms must be clear, predictable, and incentivizing so that environmental goals also create new opportunities for investment, innovation, and sustainable development. During the discussions, FIA representatives emphasized the importance of early private-sector involvement in the development of future biodiversity financing instruments and mechanisms. The FIA will continue to contribute to the dialogue between government authorities, development partners, and the investment community, promoting solutions that strike a balance between environmental goals, corporate competitiveness, and Moldova's investment attractiveness. // 11.08.2026 — InfoMarket
