Moldova's Ministry of Energy urges citizens to use energy wisely to save money and help the country's power grid
As noted in a statement from the Energy Ministry, the load on the power grid increases especially during peak hours—from 7:00 to 11:00 in the morning and from 18:00 to 23:00 in the evening—when most household appliances are running simultaneously and imported energy is more expensive. Reducing consumption during these periods is important for the stability of the system and for the family budget. The Ministry of Energy provides a number of simple tips that citizens can put into practice to save money: avoid turning on large household appliances (washing machine, dryer, dishwasher) during peak hours and plan to turn them on after 11:00 p.m. or at night; unplug unused devices from the outlet, as they consume energy unnecessarily in standby mode. It is also recommended to use natural lighting and energy-efficient LED lamps, and to optimize the boiler temperature within the range of 30–50°C to reduce consumption. The Ministry of Energy emphasizes that by adhering to simple habits of rational consumption, we reduce the load on the grid during critical periods, enable lower electricity bills, and protect the environment by reducing overall energy consumption. “Every small step counts, from eliminating unnecessary consumption to planning the use of household appliances wisely,” the Ministry notes. More useful and practical tips on saving energy can be found in the information materials on the Ministry of Energy website. // 19.12.2025 — InfoMarket.
