According to the Moldovan Customs Service, economic operators will be able to complete customs formalities on weekends at the regional domestic customs posts "Chișinău 1" (Industrială) and "Chișinău 2" (Cricova). The Customs Service is implementing this measure to simplify access to customs services and provide the business community with additional opportunities when planning transport operations and customs clearance procedures. From October 9 through December 31, these two customs posts will be open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The extended hours are part of a pilot project through which the Customs Service aims to optimize the customs clearance process and assess the effectiveness of a schedule tailored to the needs of economic operators. For businesses, this means the ability to conduct customs operations throughout the week, providing greater flexibility in managing logistics processes. As part of the pilot project, customs posts will conduct customs inspections and process formalities during the designated hours, within their jurisdiction and in accordance with the applicable regulatory framework. The Moldovan Customs Service will monitor the volume of operations, the time spent on customs formalities, and the demand for services on weekends. The results will form the basis for decisions on whether to maintain or adjust the work schedule. Economic operators are encouraged to take advantage of this new program when planning their transportation and customs operations. // 08.10.2026 — InfoMarket
