According to the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), a 100-leu silver coin and a 10-leu bimetallic circulation coin have been issued to mark the 35th anniversary of the country's declaration of independence. Both coins have been put into circulation as legal tender and for numismatic purposes. The silver coin, part of the "Historical Events" series, has a mintage of 1,300 pieces. Its obverse features Moldova's national symbols—the flag, coat of arms, and national anthem—as well as the Declaration of Independence. Each coin is encased in a transparent methacrylate capsule and a presentation box and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by NBM Governor Anca Dragu and a QR code providing access to the coin's specifications. It can be purchased directly from the NBM via an online application or through licensed banks, though the bank's selling price may not exceed the price set by the NBM by more than 3%. The 10-leu circulation coin has a mintage of 250,000 pieces and is made of steel clad with nickel and brass, giving it a silvery-golden bimetallic appearance. The obverse depicts participants in the Great National Assembly of 1991 with their hands raised, while the reverse features the denomination, the year of issue, a stylized national ornament, and a hidden "RM" monogram visible when the coin is tilted.
