As noted in a statement by the state-owned enterprise Moldovan Railways, this project specifically includes comprehensive work to restore, modernize, and electrify the railway infrastructure, including: reconstruction and modernization of the railway bridge over the Prut River; modernization of the railway infrastructure at Ungheni Station and the 1,435-mm European gauge track; electrification of the railway line from the bridge over the Prut River to the European gauge section at Ungheni Station; modernization of signaling, centralization, and interlocking systems, as well as railway communications and telecommunications; protection and, if necessary, reconfiguration of existing utility networks in the project area.
