Moldova Is Seeking Long-Term Gas Contracts and Increasing Compensation for Energy Resources

The Moldovan government intends to seek long-term gas contracts in order to secure more favorable terms for a portion of its supplies and, at the same time, increase compensation for energy resources during the upcoming cold season. Authorities acknowledge that the negotiations will be difficult, and that decisions regarding support for the population and fuel purchases will require additional resources and external assistance.
