According to the National Energy Regulatory Agency, the energy regulator intends to approve new regulated prices for the supply of natural gas by Energocom to certain categories of end users as part of its public service obligations, new rates for electricity and heat supplied to consumers by Termoelectrica and CET Nord, and new rates for heat supplied to consumers by Apă-Canal Chișinău, Rețelele și Centralele Termice Comrat, Antermo, Comgaz-Plus, and Servicii Comunale Glodeni. ANRE invites consumers, interested parties, representatives of the business community and civil society, as well as anyone else interested, to review the published drafts and submit their opinions, suggestions, and recommendations regarding them. These drafts will be submitted for approval during an open meeting of the ANRE Administrative Council scheduled for Monday, September 28 (10:00 a.m.). Earlier, Energocom announced that it is requesting ANRE to increase the natural gas rate for residential consumers in Moldova by 29.4%—from 18.79 to 24.31 lei per cubic meter, excluding VAT (from 20.3 to 26.25 lei, including 8% VAT). Termoelectrica and CET-Nord have requested that ANRE increase tariffs for heat supplied to consumers by 82.6% and 96%, respectively. Specifically, Termoelectrica proposes raising the rate from the current 2,020 to 3,689 lei per Gcal (+1,669 lei/82.6%), while CET-Nord proposes raising it from 2,201 to 4,314 lei per Gcal (+2,113 lei/96%). At the same time, the companies requested increases in regulated prices for the electricity they generate: Termoelectrica—from 2.31 to 5.21 lei per kWh (2.2 times), CET-Nord—from 2.77 to 6.99 lei per kWh (2.5 times). The last time the natural gas tariff for residential consumers in Moldova was raised was on August 21 of this year, by 40.7%—from 13.35 to 18.79 lei per cubic meter, excluding VAT (from 14.42 to 20.3 lei, including 8% VAT).
