The Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED) and the Ministry of Energy have launched the 5th national campaign, "Turn Consumption into Sustainable Savings." It is aimed at households, government agencies, and businesses and provides practical recommendations for reducing energy consumption, using equipment more efficiently, and implementing solutions that yield long-term savings. The campaign is part of the government-approved Action Plan for Preparing for the 2026–2027 Heating Season and is being carried out in collaboration with the National Energy Regulatory Agency, Premier Energy, Energocom, Moldelectrica, Termoelectrica, RED-Nord, CET-Nord, FEE-Nord, and the Joint Unit for the Implementation and Monitoring of Energy Projects (UCIPE). As Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu noted, starting in 2022, the ministry has been developing an annual plan to prepare for the cold season, which includes scenarios and specific measures for managing risks in the energy sector, one of which is voluntary consumption reduction. According to him, against the backdrop of the regional energy crisis, drought, the war in Ukraine, and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, energy conservation remains a key element of the country's energy security. As part of the campaign, consumers will be informed on how to reduce unnecessary energy consumption, use electrical appliances and energy systems more efficiently, manage consumption during the cold season, and minimize energy losses. Special attention will be given to both measures that do not require significant investment and energy-efficiency solutions that involve investment but ensure long-term reductions in consumption and costs. Citizens will also be informed about available government support programs. In addition, informational articles and practical resources will be distributed, including through partner organizations and by publishing useful information on the back of energy bills; consumers can also receive advice via the CNED Green Line (0 8005 5005). The Ministry of Energy noted that useful information can also be found in the CNED digital library, which contains over 60 practical guides, brochures, studies, and other materials on energy efficiency and renewable energy in Romanian, Russian, and English. Consumers also have access to funding programs for energy-saving measures, including the EcoVoucher program for household appliances and the Moldova Residential Energy Efficiency Fund (FEERM), which offers the Casa Verde financial product. These tools are designed to reduce consumer expenses, improve the energy efficiency of homes, and expand access to modern energy-saving solutions. // 15.09.2026 — InfoMarket.
