Moldova has launched broad consultations on the reform of local public administration
According to Government Secretary General Alexei Buzu, the aim of this reform is to create strong municipalities, develop settlements, and improve the quality of services close to citizens. "Only after consultations will we determine the final form of the reform. We will discuss this with mayors, experts, district and local authorities, civil society, and citizens," said the Secretary General of the Government. According to him, citizens should receive more funds for projects and services and less bureaucracy from this reform: villages will remain, municipalities will merge, local service centers will appear, and documents will be issued more easily, in one place. Alexei Buzu called for joint implementation of this important reform and for dialogue, noting that proposals can also be sent to the email address primariiputernice@gov.md. // 20.01.2026 — InfoMarket
