The Moldovan government and parliament will soon announce new measures to support local producers
This was announced by Radu Marian, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economy, Budget, and Finance, noting that, starting January 1, schools, hospitals, and other public institutions can grant additional points in tenders to companies that produce locally. This follows the entry into force of an amendment to the Law on Public Procurement adopted last year, according to which, when selecting the winner of a procurement based on price-quality or quality-cost ratios, public institutions can give preference to local producers located closer to the institution and supplying products directly. "The goal is clear: to have more public procurement that supports the local economy and communities in the country. All public institutions have been informed of this change and are encouraged to implement it. We are not resting on our laurels. The government and parliament will soon announce other measures to support local production," Radu Marian emphasized. // 19.01.2026 — InfoMarket.
