In Moldova, another 133 local road modernization projects will receive funding from the state budget under the "Europe Close" program
This was announced by Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, at a press conference dedicated to the program's implementation and new investments planned for 2025. He stated that the 133 projects approved for funding by the National council for coordination of regional and local development have been added to the 220 projects launched in July of this year. Thus, of the 579 projects selected, the "Europe Close" program includes 353 projects currently in the implementation or preparation phase. In the coming days, mayors of villages included in the new package will be invited to sign financing agreements, after which they will be able to begin public procurement to select entrepreneurs. Vladimir Bolea noted that the implementation of the 353 already launched and new projects will yield concrete results: 41 km of local roads of district and municipal significance will be built or repaired; 294 km of public roads and streets within populated areas were constructed/repaired; 120 km of pedestrian paths and sidewalks leading to schools, kindergartens, healthcare facilities and other public service facilities were constructed/repaired; in total, more than 880,000 residents of 561 populated areas, as well as more than 2,000 government institutions will receive more modern, safe and comfortable roads and access roads. The total cost of the projects is about 1.69 billion lei, of which 1.5 billion lei comes from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development. The contribution of local authorities is about 190 million lei. To date, the progress of the implementation of the Europe Closer program, based on the first 220 projects launched in the summer, is as follows: 14 projects have been completed with the official acceptance of works; 49 projects have already been implemented and are being prepared for official delivery; 103 projects are in the process of implementation; 35 have contracts ready to begin work; 19 are in the process of public procurement.// 03.12.2025 – InfoMarket.
