ANRE has denied reports circulating in the public sphere that it will approve gas rates for all end users at its meeting on July 24

The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) reported that the draft resolution on the approval of regulated prices for the supply of natural gas by Energocom—in the context of fulfilling its public service obligation related to ensuring emergency supply—which is scheduled to be submitted for approval on Friday, July 24, is not intended to approve regulated prices for natural gas supply applicable to end users. The approval of emergency supply prices is a monthly procedure that has been in place since March 2024, and its purpose is to approve the regulated prices applied by the supplier of last resort to consumers who have lost their natural gas supplier and are entitled to uninterrupted supply services. Regarding the request for approval of regulated natural gas supply tariffs submitted by Energocom on July 15, ANRE clarifies that it is currently under review by the agency’s experts. Once the analysis is complete, the draft decision will be published for public consultations in accordance with legal regulations. At this stage, consumers, representatives of civil society, and all interested parties will be able to submit proposals and comments, which will be considered before a decision is adopted. In light of information circulating in the public sphere and calls for protest, ANRE calls for responsible behavior and asks all interested parties to distinguish between the draft decisions on the agency’s agenda, noting that the deliberate conflation of different procedures misleads consumers and affects the accuracy of information shaping public opinion. ANRE reaffirms its openness to transparent and constructive dialogue with all stakeholders and encourages active participation in public consultations so that decisions are based on sound arguments and fully comply with legal norms. // 21.07.2026 — InfoMarket
