Fuel prices continue to fall in Moldova, with the retail price of diesel dropping below 26 lei per liter and the price of gasoline falling below 28 lei per liter—ANRE
The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) reported this, noting the continuing downward trend in retail prices for major petroleum products. As the energy regulator emphasizes, this favorable price trend is driven by a decline in international prices for petroleum products and a significant drop in crude oil prices on international markets. In recent days, the price of Brent crude has fallen below the $80-per-barrel threshold, returning to its lowest levels since March of this year. This is facilitated by a temporary agreement between the U.S. and Iran, which provides for the resumption of maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and creates the conditions for additional volumes of oil from the region to return to the market. According to ANRE, consumers are now paying 9.12 lei less per liter of diesel fuel and 3.41 lei less per liter of COR 95 gasoline compared to the peak levels reached following the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East. Under these circumstances, for the period from June 20 to 22, ANRE has set the following maximum retail prices for standard petroleum products: - COR 95 gasoline – 27.99 lei/liter (-16 bani); standard diesel fuel – 25.86 lei/liter (-38 bani). ANRE notes that it continues to monitor the situation and developments on international oil exchanges and assures consumers that the current mechanism is as transparent as possible, guaranteeing maximum fairness in the pricing of petroleum products on the domestic market. // 19.06.2026 — InfoMarket.
