In 2025, six Moldovan settlements received fire trucks from Poland as part of the EU4Moldova Resilience project, with a total value of over 44 million lei

According to Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova, in 2025, six settlements in Moldova were equipped with fire engines to improve emergency response efficiency and increase the safety of local residents. The vehicles were intended for settlements where volunteer rescue and fire stations are operating or will be opened. Thanks to this support, the settlements of Calinesti (Falesti district), Gura Bicului (Anenii Noi district), Sofia (Drochia district), Pepeni (Singerei district), Carpineni (Hincesti district), and Sireti (Straseni district). Six fire trucks are in working order and were decommissioned by volunteer fire brigades in the Wielkopolska Province as part of the modernization of their vehicle fleet. “We are pleased to be able to support the development of local emergency services and strengthen solidarity between our communities,” said Krzysztof Grabowski, Deputy Marshal of the Wielkopolska Province. Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova is implementing the EU4Moldova Resilience – Secure State, Resilient Communities project, funded by the European Union, under which 10 settlements in Moldova receive grants to build volunteer fire and rescue stations from scratch, and another 9 settlements receive support for the reconstruction of existing stations. “Thanks to the synergy of these measures, local communities receive a full package of support – fire engines, modern infrastructure, and equipment for firefighters – which strengthens the activities of volunteer fire brigades at the local level,” said EU Ambassador to Moldova Iwona Piorko. From 2021 to the present, Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova has contributed to equipping 10 settlements in Moldova with fire engines. “The goal of our organization is to expand and strengthen the network of volunteer firefighters and rescuers at the national level,” added Tomasz Horbowski, Director of Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova.
