A new mobile scanner has been installed at the Tudora - Starokazacie customs post, for the equipment procurement and installation $2.9 million was allocated
According to the Customs Service, the Rapiscan Eagle M-60 mobile scanner, with a penetration capacity of over 330 mm of steel, can scan up to 50 vehicles per hour and produce high-quality, color-coded images for effective risk detection. The scanner was procured with equal funding from the Moldovan government and the USAID MISRA program and represents a strategic contribution to national and regional security. According to the Customs Service, the total agreed cost for the equipment, maintenance, and training was $2.93 million. The commissioning of this high-performance system is the result of a complex process that took place between 2023 and 2025, including international selection procedures, technical inspections at the manufacturer, on-site installation and testing, and customs officer training.
