Maib organized its first internal hackathon dedicated to digital innovation
Maib organized its first internal hackathon, “Ctrl + Shift + Innovate”, an event dedicated to creativity, collaboration, and digital innovation, held at Maib Park. Over 48 hours, the space became a hub for bold ideas and technological solutions with the potential to impact modern banking.
The hackathon brought together 50 maib employees, organized into 10 teams, who worked intensively on concepts aimed at improving internal processes and customer experience. The teams were supported by six experienced mentors, and the final solutions were evaluated by a jury of eight members from maib’s top management.
Svetlana Bodaci, Human Resources Director:
"Through this hackathon, we aimed to provide our colleagues with a space where their ideas could come to life, where they could experiment, collaborate, and think beyond their daily roles. Innovation starts with people, and this lab is about giving them the confidence and context to build solutions with real impact. The results exceeded our expectations, and we are excited to see the developed solutions implemented".
After two days of intensive work, the teams presented their projects, and the jury announced the winners of the first edition:
- - 1st Place – BlindApprovers – with a solution that optimizes and simplifies online payments, providing clients with a faster and more efficient experience.
- - 2nd Place – iust – with an AI-based solution that digitalizes human resources processes, helping to reduce costs, time, and administrative tasks.
- - 3rd Place – DumitruDucaFanClub – with the “API Monitor” solution, which monitors API stability and SLA compliance, offering transparency and real-time visibility into maib’s technical systems.
Nicolai Romaniuc, member of the “BlindApprovers” team said:
“Participating in this hackathon was an intense and extremely valuable experience for our team, allowing us to test our ideas in a fast-paced and competitive environment. We worked as a united team, combining technical expertise, creativity, and the ability to make quick decisions. This close collaboration helped us win first place and turn an ambitious idea into a concrete solution”.
The first edition of the “Ctrl + Shift + Innovate” hackathon reconfirms maib’s commitment to supporting innovation, fostering a culture of collaboration, and developing employees’ digital skills, paving the way for future editions dedicated to accelerating digital transformation.
