The Moldovan Customs Service intends to accelerate the digitalization of customs procedures for e-commerce
This decision was made at the third meeting of the working group on the implementation of the e-Commerce platform, established in May of this year. The meeting was attended by the Customs Service leadership, representatives of the Central Customs Bureau, and the community of postal operators affiliated with the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Moldova). The working group coordinates the development and implementation of the e-Commerce platform, including the description of customs control processes for international postal items, the preparation of draft regulations, and the search for technical and organizational solutions in line with EU standards. Participants discussed the creation of new digital tools for e-commerce, enhancing the compatibility of government information systems, improving risk management, simplifying customs procedures, and increasing the predictability of processes for economic agents. Particular attention was paid to finding solutions that simultaneously meet legal requirements and the practical needs of companies. To accelerate work on the platform, the parties agreed to intensify the work of the working group, focusing on analyzing business proposals, testing new solutions, and developing mechanisms for their implementation. It was also decided to hold meetings of the relevant working group on a weekly basis. // 21.07.2026 — InfoMarket
