The European Commission has announced the allocation of a new €200 million tranche to Moldova under the €1.9 billion EU-funded Growth Plan

This was reported by Sigfried Mureșan, co-chair of the Parliamentary Committee on EU-Moldova Association, who served as the European Parliament’s lead negotiator on this plan for our country. Siegfried Mureșan expressed his delight that “last year’s work is bearing fruit and the money is beginning to flow where it is needed—to Moldova.” According to him, this is news that every Moldovan citizen can be proud of. “I say this because the European Commission has not only announced the allocation of funds. It also stated that Moldova ranks first among candidate countries in implementing reforms from the Growth Plan. The Moldovan authorities received this money to implement 24 reforms. In total, Moldova has already been allocated nearly 500 million euros from the Growth Plan. The funds are intended for implementing reforms but finance specific projects. “These projects directly contribute to improving living standards: new roads, bridges, and railways; bridges across the Prut River; new power lines to connect to the EU grid; energy subsidies; the construction of two modern hospitals in Chișinău and Bălți; and the rollout of broadband internet in rural areas,” stated Siegfried Mureșan. // 17.03.2026 — InfoMarket.
