Gas prices in Moldova will not rise in March despite the increase in fuel prices on international markets due to the conflict in the Persian Gulf - Dorin Junghietu

This was announced by the Minister of Energy on Moldova 1 TV channel. He explained that Moldova had secured the necessary gas volumes for the entire heating season and for the 2025–2026 gas year in advance, and that the price for March is set based on the quotations in late February. “We have signed contracts for all gas volumes for the heating season and the 2025-2026 gas year. In March, the price is tied to the quotes on the last day of February. Therefore, we should not expect a significant increase in prices in March or the need to adjust the gas tariff,” said Dorin Junghietu. According to the Energy Minister, the reaction of European energy markets was also caused by the shutdown of liquefied natural gas production in Qatar, but the impact on supplies to Europe remains limited. “The structure of natural gas imports into the European Union is very diversified. Supplies from Qatar do not account for a large share, and most of the liquefied natural gas comes from the United States, Norway, or other regions,” explained the head of the Ministry of Energy. // 05.03.2026 — InfoMarket
