European Commissioner for Enlargement made this statement at a meeting with Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu. The new government's commitment to continuing reforms and accelerating progress on the European path, as well as the European Union's strong support for Moldova's EU accession process was highlighted at this meeting. According to the government press service, officials discussed the latest European Commission report, which shows that Moldova has made the biggest leap forward in its preparations for EU accession. Good results have been achieved in a number of areas, including justice, energy, education, digitalization, and regional development. “The progress we have made on the European path motivates us to continue working even faster. Our home is Europe, and we are bringing Europe home. The goal is to complete negotiations and sign the Treaty of Accession in 2028,” said the head of the Cabinet, noting that reforming the judicial system and fighting corruption remain the government's top priorities. Marta Kos confirmed her support for our country on its path to the EU. According to her, the recent parliamentary elections have once again confirmed Moldova's unwavering European aspirations. “You are an example of steadfastness in defending democracy, and we fully support you. The officials discussed the implementation of Moldova's Development Plan, noting the strict monitoring and control system applied in this regard.
