Moldova and Ukraine agreed on measures to resume poultry meat supplies

Specifically, representatives of Moldova's National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) and Ukraine's State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection held a working meeting, the main topic of which was the resumption of poultry exports from Ukraine to Moldova. The dialogue was constructive, and the parties not only discussed existing technical issues but also agreed on a clear algorithm of actions that will allow the resumption of frozen and chilled poultry meat supplies from Ukraine to Moldova after the introduction of a reliable joint control mechanism between the competent authorities of the two countries. In particular, in order to resume exports of frozen and chilled poultry meat to Moldova, Ukrainian enterprises that have the right to export to EU member states (Euro number) and operate a closed production cycle (own slaughterhouses) will be able to export their products after laboratory analysis of 10 blood serum samples in accredited EU laboratories. As soon as the test results confirm compliance with the established safety standards, exports of both frozen and chilled poultry meat to Moldova will be opened. This step will be an important signal of the stability and reliability of the Ukrainian agricultural sector. After the resumption of exports, the conditions and frequency of additional laboratory tests will be further discussed between the competent authorities of the two countries. As noted by ANSA, Ukraine has already taken concrete steps: it has selected a representative number of samples and sent them to an EU laboratory for analysis. This demonstrates the Ukrainian side's readiness to act quickly and transparently. Following negotiations, the parties expressed mutual gratitude for their professional cooperation, openness, and direct dialogue. Cooperation between the competent authorities of Moldova and Ukraine remains a guarantee of strengthening trust and sustainable development of trade in safe food products. // 05.03.2026 — InfoMarket
