The government called on citizens to donate 2% of their income tax to support public organizations

In a widely distributed message, the government called on individual taxpayers to allocate 2% of the income tax they paid in the previous year to non-profit non-governmental organizations — public associations, foundations, and private institutions. The percentage allocation is not an additional donation, but rather a redirection of a portion of the tax already paid to the state. Everyone can decide who to support: the allocated 2% can help a child, a family in need, or a cultural, social, sports, or religious project. The procedure involves filling out an income tax return (form CET18) and indicating the tax code of the beneficiary organization in the section dedicated to percentage allocation. The list of recipients of the percentage allocation is available on the Public Services Agency website: this year, one can choose from 1,352 public organizations and 244 religious denominations included in the list of verified beneficiaries. The declaration can be submitted until April 30. Resident individuals who have received taxable income in Moldova and have no income tax arrears for previous tax periods can participate in this mechanism. In 2025, more than 45,000 taxpayers took advantage of the percentage allocation mechanism, of which 41,700 were confirmed. The amount of funds allocated reached more than 19.9 million lei. The beneficiaries were 1,050 public organizations and religious institutions. // 06.03.2026 — InfoMarket
