The State Tax Service has reminded taxpayers that the deadline for paying property tax for the current year is December 26
As noted in the State Tax Service’s announcement, property tax is levied on residential real estate and country cottages (excluding land plots) with a total estimated value of 3.22 million lei or more and a total area of 120 square meters or more. Taxpayers recognized as property tax subjects as of November 1, 2025, were informed of the amount of property tax payable by means of payment notices. If a taxpayer has not received a notice to pay this tax, they should contact the State Tax Service office in their jurisdiction. Holders of electronic signatures can generate their own property tax payment notices for 2025 through the “Tax visualization based on real estate information” service available on the State Tax Service website - www.sfs.md.
