IMF experts are discussing with Moldovan authorities the prospects for the national economy, the impact of assistance programs on SMEs, and opportunities to strengthen the state aid mechanism to more effectively support investment and increase competitiveness
In particular, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Eugen Osmochescu reported on a meeting with International Monetary Fund experts, during which the IMF's current priorities, strategic directions for economic development, and technical assistance needs were analyzed. The dialogue focused on the macroeconomic outlook and prospects for the national economy, the impact of assistance programs on SMEs, and opportunities to strengthen the state aid mechanism to more effectively support investment and increase competitiveness. The meeting also discussed the implementation of the Growth Plan, with a focus on reforms under the purview of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization. The difficulties arising in their implementation were discussed, such as the need to strengthen institutional capacity, harmonize the regulatory framework, and improve monitoring tools to achieve sustainable results. Particular attention was paid to progress in the field of digitalization. The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization presented the results achieved to date, including the expansion of electronic government services, the modernization of digital infrastructure, and initiatives promoting the digital transformation of the business environment, process optimization, and increased transparency.
