State-owned companies are taking their first steps toward capital markets, with their first corporate bond issues and first listings on the Stock Exchange planned soon

The Public Property Agency (PPA) announced this, noting that the largest joint-stock companies with majority state capital participated in the first training sessions on accessing capital markets, organized with the PPA's participation. The training sessions covered topics related to capital markets, corporate bond issuance, listing on the Stock Exchange, and corporate governance. This event represented the first step in strengthening the capacity of state-owned companies to attract financing through the capital market, with the first corporate bond issues and first listings on the Stock Exchange planned for the near future. The PPA notes that state-owned company reform should be closely linked to capital market reform. The development of state-owned companies and the development of the capital market are mutually reinforcing processes. Access to capital market instruments can contribute to strengthening corporate governance, diversifying funding sources, and increasing corporate transparency. Ion Ciumac, Deputy Director General of the Public Property Agency (PPA), noted that preparing state-owned companies for capital market entry is one of the areas through which the PPA seeks to diversify funding sources, strengthen corporate governance, and enhance the competitiveness of state-owned enterprises. The PPA thanked its partners at Expert-Grup for organizing the event and for their contribution to promoting capital market development and advanced corporate governance practices. The PPA also highly appreciates the organizational efforts of the International Stock Exchange of Moldova (BIM), in which the Public Property Agency is a shareholder and the main representative of the state. The opportunities offered by the capital market were previously discussed with representatives of state-owned companies. On June 10, 2026, the PPA participated in a seminar dedicated to the possibilities of listing on the Stock Exchange and issuing corporate bonds for state-owned companies. Both events were organized with the support of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Moldova. // 07.07.2026 – InfoMarket.
