A Moldovan Parliament delegation is participating in the 17th meeting of the Moldova-EU Parliamentary Association Committee, which is taking place on May 5 in Brussels

The event is co-chaired by Marcel Spatari, Chair of the Parliamentary Commission on European Integration, and Siegfried Mureșan, Member of the European Parliament. The meeting’s agenda includes a discussion on the current state of Moldova’s EU accession negotiations, including judicial system reforms. Participants in the debate will include Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighborhood (DG ENEST); (online) and Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Justice Stela Braniste. Another key item on the meeting’s agenda concerns Moldova’s economic development, the EU Growth Plan, and the EU’s future multiannual financial framework for 2028–2034. An exchange of views on these issues will take place with the participation of Alexei Buzu, Secretary General of the Moldovan Government (online), and Cristian Pârvulescu, Co-Chair of the EU-Moldova Civil Society Platform. At the same time, issues related to security, sustainability, and the energy sector will be discussed during an exchange of views with Audronė Perkauskienė, Deputy Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the European External Action Service, and Dorin Junghietu, Minister of Energy of Moldova. At the end of the meeting, members of the Parliamentary Committee on Moldova-EU Cooperation will adopt a Final Declaration and recommendations. The Parliamentary Committee on Moldova-EU Integration is the parliamentary forum of the Association Agreement between the EU and Moldova.
