Moldova intends to expand trade, economic, and investment cooperation with China, as well as collaboration to develop its industrial potential, infrastructure, and implement modern technologies
This was discussed during a meeting between a Moldovan parliamentary delegation led by Deputy Speaker Vlad Batrîncea and Shohrat Zakir, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the development of interstate relations, strengthening interparliamentary dialogue, and expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the role of parliamentary diplomacy in supporting bilateral projects and creating favorable conditions for doing business. Vlad Batrîncea emphasized Moldova's interest in deepening pragmatic cooperation with China, including in attracting investment, developing industrial potential, infrastructure, and implementing modern technologies. The importance of activating parliamentary friendship groups as a tool for ongoing dialogue was also noted. Shohrat Zakir, who has extensive experience in public administration, including as head of government in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and currently serves in China's highest legislative body, reaffirmed China's openness to further strengthening bilateral cooperation based on mutual respect and shared interests. He noted the potential for expanding cooperation in trade, investment, regional development, and humanitarian exchanges. The parties emphasized the positive dynamics of Moldovan-Chinese relations and expressed their readiness to continue a constructive dialogue aimed at implementing specific joint initiatives, including exchanging legislative experience and supporting economic projects. "The representative composition of the Moldovan delegation reflects Moldova's broad interest in developing sustainable and mutually beneficial cooperation with China," said the head of the Moldovan delegation.
