Government approves the signing of 3 Moldovan-Romanian agreements providing for the reconstruction and repair of cross-border bridges across the Prut River.

The matter concerns the road bridges across the Prut between the following settlements: Leuseni-Albita, Cahul-Oancea and Sculeni-Sculeni. The Romanian Government will finance the modernization and maintenance of the 3 cross-border bridges. The Moldovan side’s financial support will concern only the construction of access roads to the places of work on the rehabilitation of bridges and activation of checkpoints on the Moldova-Romania border. All works are to be completed by the end of 2027. Reconstruction, operation and maintenance of bridges will simplify traffic between the two states, facilitate trade on domestic and international markets, as well as secure Moldova's status as a bridge between the EU and CIS.
