The event was attended by representatives of civil society, science, authorities and government agencies. During the consultations, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu spoke about the priorities of our country's foreign policy, accelerating the EU accession process, implementing 9 recommendations of the European Commission, improving consular services for the Diaspora by digitizing the services provided, as well as developing an electronic consulates (e-consulate). "The absolute priority is accession to the EU, here we are firmly convinced that we will be able to bring Moldova into the European Union," the head of Moldovan diplomacy said. Another foreign policy priority discussed at the consultations concerned strengthening the strategic partnership both in bilateral diplomatic, regional and multilateral terms, as well as through specific projects, agreements, accelerating and deepening dialogue with countries and organizations that support freedom, democracy and our country's belonging to Europe. against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine. “We are investing heavily in sectoral diplomacy - security and defense diplomacy, diplomacy of solidarity with Ukraine, active economic diplomacy, energy security diplomacy, anti-corruption diplomacy and cultural diplomacy. We do this both through the activities of diplomatic missions and the MFAEI teams, one of whose central tasks is to improve the legal framework. For example, in our economic interaction with other countries, including this plan for the current year, we look forward to the signing of a free trade agreement between Moldova and the EFTA countries, we hope to facilitate trade conditions, especially for agricultural products and their entry into new markets in the Middle East and in Asia,” Nicu Popescu said.
