The repair of the national road R6 Chisinau-Orhei-Balti is planned to be completed by March 2022, the project cost is 36 million euros.
This was announced by the Acting General Director of the State Administration of Roads of Moldova Veaceslav Potop during an official meeting with the management of the Turkish contractor company ONUR Taahut Tasimacilik Insaat Ticaret Ve Sanayi AS, at which the parties discussed the progress of work on the restoration of the section of the national road R6 Chisinau-Orhei-Balti (bypass road in Singerei and the Prepelita - Seretenii Vechi section) and preparation of the construction site with the installation of appropriate road signs for the winter season 2020-2021. As it was noted, the ongoing repair work on the mentioned section of the road with a total length of about 30 km was partially mothballed for the cold period. Currently, the repair work on the bridges is being carried out on the road being repaired, divided into two sections (the bypass road to Singerei and the Prepelita - Seratenii Vechi section), which can be carried out under current meteorological conditions. “The administration conducts systematic monitoring of the condition of construction sites to ensure the smooth movement of vehicles in winter conditions. We work effectively with the contractor and provide the necessary support so that the repair of the national road R6 is completed by March 2022, ”said Veaceslav Potop. The project, worth 36 million euros, provides for the repair of the roadway of the national highway, the reconstruction of 10 bridges, and the strengthening of the embankment to prevent landslides in the zone of the bypass road in Singerei.
