The WB, EIB and EBRD are ready to continue investing in projects to develop road infrastructure in Moldova, but many of their funds have not yet been used for existing projects - Vadim Brinzan.
This was announced by the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure to journalists, noting that, for example, the World Bank has a project for the repair and construction of roads in Moldova with a total value of about $ 90 million, but so far only 7% of this amount has been used. “Most of the amounts were not absorbed by Moldova because of the problems with their development, since our road workers were not focused on road infrastructure development projects as part of national programs, but were distracted by other projects, such as Good Roads, within which they built just by 1 km of roads in different settlements. But the situation in this regard will change radically from next year, ”said Vadim Brinzan. He also noted that the government decided to create 5 commissions which will be engaged in a preliminary study of the proclamation of the public utility of projects to restore, modernize and expand some sections of national roads: the M1 border with Romania-Leuseni-Chisinau-Dubasari-the border with Ukraine (km 85 - km 104); R1 Chisinau-Ungheni-border with Romania (km 103 - km 104); R6 Chisinau-Orhei-Balti (km 99 - km 112); R14 R6 - Codrul Nou-Soroca-Unguri - border with Ukraine (km 123 - km 132); R26 Bender-Causeni-Cimislia (km 71 - km 86).// 02.08.2019 — InfoMarket.
