
A new international tender has been announced in Moldova, for the selection of contractors for the repair of two sections of roads with an EBRD loan.
As noted in the message of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, in particular, it is planned to select new contractors for the repair of the following sections of roads in the framework of the new tender: R34 Hincesti-Leova-Cahul, km 0 + 000 - km 42 + 200 and R34 Hincesti-Leova-Cahul, km 42 + 200 km 83 + 000, which are put up for tender in separate lots. It should be noted that earlier, during the tenders, Italian company Serenissima Construzioni was selected for these works, however, contracts with it were terminated due to the slow pace of road works. The total value of the contracts was 58.3 million euros. The works are funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. As InfoMarket agency reported, Moldova has previously signed a loan agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank in the amount of 300 million euros for road repairs. In particular, the EBRD agreement provides for a loan of 150 million euros for the repair of 201 km of the country's main roads. The agreement with the EIB provides for a loan for the same amount to repair 121 km of national roads. In addition, the European Commission provides Moldova with a grant of 16.2 million euros for the construction of roads. It was planned that the EBRD and the EIB in Moldova as part of a project to restore the national road network with a total value of over 300 million euros, will repair the total of 322 km of national roads. // 05.08.2019 — InfoMarket.
