The duty levied upon voluntary declaration of property and cash by individuals brought to the state budget more than 1 million lei
The State Tax Service announced the completion of procedures for the implementation of the Law on Voluntary Declaration and Tax Incentives. Following the implementation of this law, the state budget received 1 million 067.28 thousand lei from the payment of the 3% fee of the declared property’s value. According to the State Tax Service, the following tasks have been performed: ownership of enterprises’ de jure shares was declared (the declaration fee totaled 30.04 thousand lei); revaluation of real estate and vehicles worth 3.11 million lei (the fee amounted to 93.56 thousand lei); ownership of real estate worth 2.32 million lei was declared (declaration fee amounted to 69.6 thousand lei). In addition, cash was declared - $358.3 thousand and 435.11 thousand euros (the fee paid totaled 874.07 thousand lei). In accordance with the current legislation, the STS passed information on the implementation of the law on voluntary declaration and tax incentives to the Prevention and Combating Money Laundering Service. Let us recall that in August 2018, the Law on Voluntary Declaration and Tax Incentives came into force in Moldova. In addition to a moratorium on tax audits, it provided for a special mechanism allowing individuals to voluntarily declare previously undeclared funds and property, indicating the source of income and paying a 3% tax.
