The World Bank is ready to continue supporting the process of modernizing the infrastructure of Termoelectrica, the heat energy supplier in Chisinau

This was stated by representatives of the World Bank at a meeting with the management of Termoelectrica. During this meeting the WB experts’ team noted the progress of the enterprise in the framework of the project "Improving the efficiency of the district heating system" (SACET). The meeting included working sessions and field visits to a number of modernized facilities under the project. During the discussions, CEO of Termoelectrica Veaceslav Eni noted that the World Bank’s assistance was a decisive factor in the reorganization of Termoelectrica, which made a significant contribution to the development of the system and improving the quality of services provided by the company. For their part, World Bank experts expressed their readiness to continue supporting the process of modernizing the enterprise’s infrastructure. “We are fortunate to work with institutions such as Termoelectrica. This is a really successful project, which is worth talking about, because it had an important impact both on people who ultimately receive much more sustainable services, and on the effective activities of the company,” said Anna Akhalkatsi, WB Director for Moldova. “Improving the efficiency of SACET” is a project implemented with the support of the World Bank to improve the quality and safety of heat supply services provided by Termoelectrica; it includes a number of works: restoration of heating networks, main pumping stations, installation of individual heating units, modernization of production sources, etc. // 20.09.2019 - InfoMarket.
