In particular, the press service of the Ministry of Economy reports that the parties discussed the importance and necessity of organizing a bilateral business forum in the context of the next, 4th meeting of the Moldovan-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation on September 2-3. During the conversation, Vadim Brinzan also noted that the experience of Hungary in the field of energy efficiency, environmental protection and combating climate change, as well as experience in the development of the information and communication technology sector are valuable for Moldova. He spoke in favor of identifying new areas of cooperation between Moldova and Hungary for the implementation of sustainable and mutually beneficial projects for both countries. In turn, Ambassador Sándor Szabó noted that he appreciates the openness of the new leadership and looks forward to effective cooperation. According to statistics, at present 50 enterprises with Hungarian capital operate in Moldova; the volume of investments is 68.53 million lei. Hungary ranks 18th in terms of capital invested in Moldova. In January-May 2019, Moldovan exports to Hungary amounted to $3.2 million, decreasing by 3.4% versus the same period last year.
