As InfoMarket agency learned, in 2018 the port of Giurgiulesti served 589 ships of various types, which is 52.5% more than in 2017. On average, the port serviced 1.6 ships daily, however, the weight of each ship decreased by about 26.3% compared to 2017 and amounted to 1.8 thousand tons. 355.1 thousand tons of products were transshipped through the grain terminal (-9,5% compared with 2017). As in previous years, all products were exported. 243 thousand tons of oil products were handled through the oil terminal of the Giurgiulesti port (by 15.8% less compared to 2017), of which 24.8 thousand tons were exported, and 218.2 thousand tons (89.7%) imported. It is noted that the export of petroleum products from the port increased by 22.8%, while imports decreased by 18.7%. Another 1.4 thousand tons were delivered to residents of free zones, which is twice as much as in the previous year. At the end of the reporting period, 10.2 thousand tons of petroleum products were stored in the warehouses of the terminal, which is about 39% less than at the end of 2017. In 2018, 386.4 thousand tons of cargo were handled through the common goods terminal, which is 1.8 times more than in 2017. Of these, 295.8 thousand tons accounted for imported goods (76.5% of the total), 90.5 thousand tons - exported. Imports through a common goods terminal increased by 2.5 times compared with 2017, exports increased by 0.9%. Last year, the terminal received such goods as building materials, metals, containers, packaged products, etc. Also, the transfer of vegetable oil continued - in 2018, 85.8 thousand tons of vegetable oil were exported, which is 33.7% more than in 2017. In general, last year the volume of wholesale trade through the Giurgiulesti port amounted to 5.4 billion lei, which is 1.8% less than in the previous year.
