
The total amount of budget support for Moldova by the EU this year will exceed 45 million euros, and our country will receive the first grant in the amount of 14.5 million euros in the coming days.
This was stated by the head of the EU Delegation to Moldova, Peter Michalko, at a meeting with Finance Minister Natalia Gavrilita, with whom they discussed macro-financial assistance from the European Union and budget support programs. The head of the Ministry of Finance thanked the EU for the continued support provided to our country, as well as for unblocking the macro-financial assistance and budget support programs. Natalia Gavrilita said that the Ministry of Finance will continue to coordinate its foreign aid programs. In turn, the EU Ambassador to Moldova, Peter Michalko, said that the first tranches from the EU budget support program, in particular, a grant of 14.5 million euros, will be transferred in the coming days. The total amount of EU budget support will exceed 45 million euros. Moreover, the ambassador said that there is a place to discuss the amount and time limit for each tranche. Peter Michalko said that Moldova has the greatest financial assistance from the EU per capita, but Moldova also needs to be able to use these funds. The meeting also discussed the holding in September of this year, a conference on the priorities of the government in the field of foreign aid.
