The State Road Administration and Onur Turkish company signed two contracts worth about 60 million euros on the repair of Chisinau-Giurgiulesti M3 road’s sections

The matter concerns the repair of Porumbrei-Cimislia section and the construction of a bypass road in Comrat with a total length of 37.3 km. Contracts were signed in the presence of the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici by the General Director of the State Roads Administration Gheorghe Curmei and the deputy director of the Turkish company. The works will be financed from the funds allocated by the European Investment Bank. Chiril Gaburici welcomed the signing of the new contracts on the repair of roads in the south of Moldova after signing in August this year the contracts with the Ukrainian company "Avtomagistral-Yug" on the repair in Moldova of 85 km sections of the national highway M3 Chisinau-Giurgiulesti. According to him, in general, 4 companies, whose applications were opened on April 26 this year, participated in the tender on the repair of the Porumbrei-Cimislia section of the national road and the construction of the bypass road in Comrat. The winner of the tender was Onur Turkish company, which already implements projects on the development of road infrastructure in Moldova. When selecting the winner of the tender, the financial capabilities of the companies, the availability of funds and the turnover, experience in implementing similar projects, availability of sufficient personnel and equipment were assessed. The length of the Porumbrei-Cimislia section is 19 km, the cost of the works is 29.9 million euros, the length of the bypass road in Comrat is 18.3 km, the cost of the work is 29.5 million euros. The project is scheduled to be completed within a maximum of 3 years. Chiril Gaburici reminded that the Chisinau-Giurgiulesti road M3 through Giurgiulesti port unites Moldova with the countries of the Black Sea basin. A speedy repair of this road is expected by numerous investors who already work in Moldova or are only going to come to the country with investments. In turn, the general director of the State Road Administration Gheorghe Curmei said that there are penalties for untimely performance of works. 12 months are given for the detection of defects.
