The Parliament of Moldova ratified the agreement with the Council of Europe Development Bank on a loan of 12 million euros for the implementation of the project for the purchase of new ambulances

The document was signed in Chisinau on July 12. The loan is granted for a period of 15 years, including a 5-year grace period for payments. The interest rate will be set for each tranche separately, depending on the rates on the international market. It is planned that the Moldovan authorities will purchase about 170 ambulances for the National Center for Prehospital Emergency Medical Assistance. In particular, it is planned to buy 35 ambulances of type "C" (for intensive care, the approximate price is 100-105 thousand euros per unit) and 133 B-type vehicles (for emergency medical care, the approximate price is 60-70 thousand euros for a unit). Automobiles will be purchased during a tender organized according to international standards in this field. The National Program for the Development of Emergency Medical Assistance for 2016-2020 stipulates that the system of urgent prehospital medical care in Moldova should be equipped with 450 ambulances of type B and C. At the same time, the fleet of the National Center for Urgent Medical Assistance includes 295 machines manufactured in 1996, 2013, with more than 80% of them having a wear rate of 100%. In order to modernize the ambulance fleet the government allocated last year 51 million lei for the purchase of 69 Russian-made Sobol ambulances, which will be distributed to 32 medical stations where the car wear rate exceeds 90%. The National Center for Prehospital Emergency Medical Services provides free, 24-hour medical services to more than 3.5 million Moldovans. In 2017, the service rendered emergency assistance to 870,000 citizens. The Council of Europe Development Bank was founded in 1956 and its shareholders are more than 40 countries. The CEB provides loans to its members, financial organizations and local authorities of the member countries for financing projects in the social sphere. //26.07.2018 — InfoMarket.
